About Us

We're physical media people. We collect books, movies, CDs, and (or course) records. As our collections have grown, so have the storage needs and the importance of careful organization.

When we started collecting vinyl 15 years ago, we did what many of you did and bought some Ikea Kallax shelves to store it all. They're a great size, sturdy, and affordable! But they're not perfect. They are a bit too deep for records, and the open shelves meant that we were constantly pushing records and label dividers out the back. And after swapping out a few records during a listening session, they ended up looking like an undulating, chaotic mess.

This photo is not staged. This is just how chaotic our shelves would get. Our labeled record dividers? They would get pushed in along with the records.

This is not a new problem. People have figured out numerous different ways to keep their records organized including cardboard boxes, pool noodles, weather stripping, and more! We wanted to do things a little differently and ended up creating our 3D-printed backspacers that solve that one problem, as well as a couple others. We use Command® adhesive strips so our backspacers can be installed easily without the need for drilling and without worrying about damaging residue if they fail. And if we ever want to sell or repurpose our shelves, we know we can easily remove the strips without any issues.

The other problem we wanted to address is organization. Our record dividers and printed labels were also cumbersome and inconvenient. We wanted something simpler, cleaner, and readable from any angle. That's what inspired our shelf tags. They elegantly help structure our growing media collections and make them easier to live with. They're easy to keep in place when adding or removing things from the shelf. They're easy to move around as the collection grows. The available characters are comprehensive enough to deal with letters, numbers, and even non-Roman characters.

We hope you like all of our storage accessories and that they help you enjoy your own media collections even more!
